Morpeth is Northumberland's county town, about 18 miles north of our Washington yard, and its guttering has a particular problem: trees. The River Wansbeck winds through the middle of the town in a wooded valley, Carlisle Park and the riverside walks are lined with mature trees, and many older streets back onto gardens with large sycamores and beeches. Every autumn that leaf fall ends up in the guttering.
Our gutter cleaning in Morpeth uses a vacuum on sectional poles worked from the ground. The head is guided along the inside of each run, drawing out leaves, moss and the black silt underneath into the machine instead of dropping it over your path or borders.
Morpeth guttering: old stone and new estates
The centre around Bridge Street and Newgate Street has stone-built houses and shops, some with cast iron or older gutters fixed to timber. On those, keeping weight off the brackets matters, and vacuuming from the ground does exactly that. Estates at Kirkhill, Stobhill and Loansdean, and the newer housing towards Pegswood, have plastic guttering that is lighter but sags easily if a ladder is leaned on it.
Bungalows, two storey semis and taller town houses are all within reach of the poles. Where an extension, a porch or a conservatory has its own small gutter, that is cleared on the same visit.
Camera footage of your guttering
A camera on the pole records the inside of the gutter before we start and again when we finish. On older Morpeth properties that footage is often the first time the owner has seen the condition of joints and brackets above the second floor, and it gives you something clear to show a roofer if a repair looks needed. We do not carry out gutter repairs ourselves.

Late autumn, once the trees along the Wansbeck have dropped their leaves, is the busiest time. Read how the method works on our main gutter cleaning page, see other towns on the gutter cleaning area list, or, if you are a few miles east, our page on gutter cleaning in Ashington. The full list of places we cover is on the areas page.
We are fully insured. Ring 07501060609 or use the quote form and tell us roughly how big the house is and whether the back is reachable.
Questions about gutter cleaning in Morpeth
When is the best time to clear gutters in Morpeth?
After the leaves have finished falling, usually from mid November. Homes close to the river or Carlisle Park often benefit from a second clear in spring.
Can you clear old cast iron guttering on a stone house?
Yes. The vacuum works from the ground, so no ladder rests on the gutter or brackets, which suits older fixings.
Will I be able to see if my guttering needs repairing?
Yes. The pole camera shows the inside of each run before and after, so you can see joints, brackets and any standing water.
Do you cover villages around Morpeth?
We cover up to 45 miles from Washington, which includes Pegswood and the villages around Morpeth. Ask when you get in touch.
