Pitched roof with scattered moss between grey interlocking tiles

Our exterior cleaning work in photos

Photos of our exterior cleaning: driveways, roofs, gutters, render and more, across the North East.

These photographs bring together exterior cleaning work on different parts of a property. Compare the surface in each image: roof tiles, paving and guttering need different methods, even when the visible problem is moss, algae or accumulated dirt. The service summaries below explain how we approach each kind of work and link to more detail about the relevant clean.

The kinds of work in these photos

Roof cleaning and moss removal

Roof photographs show the difference between moss-covered tiles and a cleared roof surface.

Roofs cleared of moss with a scrape, then cleaned by soft wash, low pressure wash or hot steam to suit the tiles, and treated to slow regrowth. High pressure is never used on a roof. The method depends on the tiles and their condition, rather than using the same wash on every property.

Pressure and jet washing

Paving photographs show dirt and organic growth being removed from driveways, patios and paths.

Driveways, patios and paths washed with the pressure matched to the surface, so dirt, algae and staining lift without the paving being cut into. Block paving can be re-sanded afterwards. Re-sanding, treatment and re-sealing are separate considerations when planning a clean; tell us what surface you have when asking about the work.

Gutter vac clearing

The inside of a gutter matters more than how clean its outer face looks.

Gutters emptied from the ground with a vacuum on sectional poles, with a pole camera used to show the inside of the run before and after. Camera photographs help show whether debris has been cleared and can identify possible repairs. Clearing the channel is a different job from washing the fascia and soffit underneath it.

Soffit and fascia cleaning

Roofline cleaning deals with the exposed boards and undersides around the edge of the roof.

Fascia boards and soffits soft washed to remove cobwebs, dust, mould and debris, using products suited to the material. Stains and black marks are treated with relevant products for the type of fascia or soffit. This can be requested alongside gutter clearing, so the inside of the gutter and the visible roofline receive the appropriate attention.

Render cleaning

Wall cleaning targets green and black growth without treating render like hard paving.

Green and black growth lifted from rendered walls by soft washing and steam, rather than a hard jet that could damage the finish. Algae, lichen, fungi, moss, mould and dirt are among the growths addressed by the render cleaning methods described on our service page.

Pure water window cleaning

Glass needs a different approach from roof tiles, gutter channels or paving.

Glass, frames and sills cleaned from the ground with filtered, de-ionised water on a pole, left to dry clear without detergent. A soft brush agitates dirt before the rinse. Removing dissolved minerals from the water avoids the mineral deposits that otherwise dry onto glass as spots and streaks.
