Pure water window cleaning across the North East

A local window cleaner using filtered, purified water on a pole: glass, frames and sills cleaned from the ground.

A window cleaner near you in the North East

If you are searching for a window cleaner near you, we clean windows for homes and commercial premises up to 45 miles from our base in Washington, NE37, using pure water on a water-fed pole. That takes in Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Gateshead and the towns on our areas page. The glass, frames and sills are cleaned from the ground, with no ladders and no detergent, and we are always open for enquiries on 07501060609.

Pure water window cleaning, often called water-fed pole cleaning, uses ordinary mains water that has been passed through a filtration and de-ionisation system to strip out the dissolved minerals it normally carries. Those minerals are what dry onto glass as spotting and streaking, so removing them first means the windows can be rinsed and left to dry on their own.

The purified water is pumped up a telescopic pole to a soft brush head. The brush agitates the dirt on the glass, frames, sills and rubber seals, and the pure water rinses it away. No detergents or chemicals are used on the glass itself.

Purified water, no detergents

Mains water is filtered and de-ionised to remove the dissolved minerals that leave spots and streaks. Because the water is pure it lifts dirt and then dries off the glass without leaving residue behind.

Frames and sills cleaned too

The brush head washes the glass, frames, sills and rubbers as part of the same pass, so the whole window is cleaned rather than just the pane.

Worked from the ground

A telescopic water-fed pole reaches upper-floor windows from ground level, so there is no ladder resting against your gutters, render or conservatory roof.

Homes and commercial premises

Suitable for houses, flats, shops, offices and other commercial frontages, including conservatory glass and skylights that are awkward to reach by hand.

Pure water and TDS: why the glass dries clear

Tap water contains total dissolved solids, usually shortened to TDS. These are minerals such as calcium and magnesium picked up on the water's journey to your tap. They are harmless to drink, but when a droplet dries on glass the water evaporates and the minerals stay behind as a small white spot. That is why windows washed with a bucket of tap water and left wet end up speckled.

Our system removes those dissolved solids before the water reaches the brush. Filtration takes out sediment, and de-ionisation takes out the minerals, leaving water that is as close to pure as we can make it. Pure water is also hungry for dirt, so it lifts grime from the glass well without needing soap. With nothing left in it to dry on the surface, it can be left on the window to dry naturally.

The absence of detergent matters too. Soap that is not fully rinsed leaves a thin film, and dust sticks to it. Glass cleaned with pure water has nothing on it for the next layer of dirt to grip, which is why it tends to stay cleaner between visits.

How the clean is carried out

  1. 1

    Survey the glass

We check the windows, frames and access before starting so we know what needs the most attention.

  2. 2

    Filter the water

Water is run through the filtration and de-ionisation system until it reaches a purity suitable for spot-free cleaning.

  3. 3

    Agitate and rinse

The soft brush head loosens dirt from the glass, frames and rubbers, then the same pure water rinses everything down.

  4. 4

    Leave to dry naturally

Pure water dries without needing to be squeegeed or buffed, which is what leaves the glass clear once it has dried off.

Windows can look slightly wet for a while after we leave. That is normal with pure water, and the glass clears as it dries.

What affects the price of window cleaning

We do not publish a price list, because every property is different. The size of the house, the number of windows, how easy they are to reach, how often you want them cleaned and whether frames and sills have been left for a long time all change the job. A first clean usually takes longer than the visits that follow it.

Our guide on window cleaning prices explains each factor in more detail, and our comparison of traditional and pure water window cleaning covers the difference between the two methods.
