Why testing a patch first really matters

Oxalic acid can lighten or alter the colour of some natural stone, coloured concrete, and certain sealants, sometimes leaving a patch visibly different from the surrounding area, which is arguably worse than the original rust stain. Testing on a small, hidden section, such as behind a planter or in a corner, and waiting to see the result before treating the visible stain is a step worth the extra ten minutes.
