Terrace fronts and estate gardens
Ashington’s colliery-era terraces and newer estates create two very different working settings. In Hirst, rows of houses can have compact frontages and rear yards reached by lanes. Later housing offers broader drives or side paths, but a garage or extension may still obstruct the upstairs windows. The wider Wansbeck setting and the Newbiggin edge add variation in exposure; they do not justify treating every address as the same kind of home.
For a window enquiry, a photograph of the rear approach is often more useful than several close-ups of the front panes. It shows whether a gate opens fully, where a hose might run and whether the yard offers a suitable working position. Shared passages should be described accurately rather than assumed to be private access. No local customer numbers or past work are claimed on this page.
